Underground Cable Testing
This test set utilizes a very low frequency power supply for cable hi-potting along with DC supplies for fault burning and locating. The test set is capable of testing system feeders ranging from 4 kV through 33 kV and up to 25 microfarad cable capacitance load tested at maximum voltage.

- Used to determine if a feeder has any
shorts or grounds applied
SAFETY SPARK GAP SYSTEM
- Can be used in conjunction
with Ammeter Clear Test Set - SG-6 is used when potential
for back feed exists and to
protect equipment but more
importantly protect the worker
TRACING CURRENT
TRANSMITTER TEST SET
- Used to perform continuity tests
which prove the electrical path
between two points on a feeder
PICK METHOD
TESTER/FAULT INDICATOR
- Used to read sheath current
(both magnitude and polarity) - Used for fault locating as well as
pinpointing HV faults
GALVANOMETER/FAULT
DIRECTION INDICATOR
- Used for measuring current by the deflection
of a movable coil or a movable magnet - Used to locate fault locating tracing current
on HV feeders - Used to positively ID feeders and
phase markings (AØ, BØ, and CØ)
TELESCOPING STICK FOR PICKUP COIL, GALV-STK
- Used to place both small or large pickup coils in man
holes or other hard to reach location. Equipped with
GALV extension cable.
